Embraer Legacy Case Study

From Concept To Mock-Up In Less Than 15 Weeks

With a major new product unveiling just fifteen weeks away, Embraer contacted RCO Engineering to help them build a complete, full-scale mock-up of their new $19-million corporate jet.  Several options had already been explored in an effort to ensure a mock-up would be built in time but only RCO could deliver a solution which met Embraer's budget, timeframe and quality expectations.

RCO immediately brought together an experienced project team interiors.  In addition to building tooling and parts for the 65-foot mock-up, RCO worked closely with designers and production sources to identify the materials and finishes that would be used on the flying demonstration aircraft.  Many of these decisions had not yet been made, necessitating rapid response and cooperation between RCO, Embraer and their production suppliers.  When production was completed, RCO also took responsibility for the logistics of shipping and setting up the mock-up, allowing Embraer's marketing and sales staff to begin tours and sales presentations immediately.

A number of challenges were encountered along the way but RCO's project management team was able to keep the fast-moving project on schedule.  In less than fifteen weeks, RCO was able to deliver a complete, 65-foot mock-up of Embraer's new corporate jet -- on time and within budget.
